We just returned from a 10-night Greek Celebrity Cruise through the Mediterranean. To escape the German winter blues, we needed a warm-ish Spring Break getaway and a reason to explore more Greek islands in a short amount of time, and a Greek cruise felt like the perfect choice for our family. I have a ton to cover about our experience, so I’ll be straight to the point: here is my review and a quick recap of our 10-night Celebrity Greek cruise on Celebrity Infinity.
Celebrity Infinity
First, let me begin by talking about the Celebrity ship we were on, the Celebrity Infinity. I’ve only ever cruised twice in my lifetime prior to this recent cruise. Those cruises were on Carnival and MSC. I won’t cover either cruise line in this post, but I’d say there are quite a few differences between the ships.
This Celebrity cruise we recently took has been, so far, the most low-key cruise I’ve ever been on, and that may be due to the season we sailed. Additionally, the majority of the population on board was older. However, there were still a handful of families with small children and a small range of other ages on board (this is not a negative opinion; I instead found it very relaxing and quiet).
The Celebrity Infinity boat we were on is an older boat. It is part of the Celebrity Cruise Line Millennium Series, which includes three sister ships. Although functional, the ship doesn’t really have the modernity and frills that you would see on the newer cruise ships advertised on social media, in my opinion. The decor is somewhat dated, as if stuck in the early 2000s, yet still usable. The ship was built in 2001 and remodeled in 2018.
Additionally, a staff member mentioned that the Infinity is one of the oldest Celebrity cruise ships, and that the newer ships are much nicer, with more frills. The Celebrity Infinity is a smaller cruise ship that accommodates up to 2,046 passengers and a crew of around 1,000. It is 294 meters long and 32 meters wide

Our Cabin Overview
The interior of our cabin had old wood paneling walls and doors, but it was very, very clean. For reference, we booked a Balcony room in Concierge Class. The bathroom was small but functional. We had our tween daughter with us, so this cabin included a pull-out couch for her to sleep on. A mini fridge and TV were also included. It wasn’t anything special, but it worked out for our family.

Food & Dining
The food options on the Celebrity Infinity were diverse. The main dining options included in our cruise package were the Ocean View Café (the buffet), the Mast Grill, and the Trellis Restaurant for evening dining. Specialty restaurants are also an option for those who prefer to dine elsewhere. These specialty dining options cost extra and offer options beyond the usual buffet and evening dining. We did not feel the need to eat at any of the specialty restaurants as we felt the Ocean View Café and evening dining hall had everything we needed.
As for the quality and taste of the food on board the buffet, it was decent in my opinion. The breakfast menu on the buffet bar stayed pretty much the same every morning, but with a variety to choose from, including an eggs Benedict station, omelet station, a station for a variety of cultural food options serving Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern, UK flairs, and more. Furthermore, you can also find the occasional fruits, sweets, bread, ice cream, and pastry stations.
For lunch and dinner, the menu varied throughout the cruise, featuring dishes of the day from different cultures, such as Mexican, Asian, and Spanish-inspired dishes, and more. Meats and fish can also be grilled to your liking. There were so many food options to choose from daily, you could never go wrong with dining at the Ocean View Café.
The Trellis Restaurant (which called for more of a casual dining experience) offered first-class menu choices of 3-course meals. Each evening, the menu changed, offering options like beef wellington, chicken dishes, pasta, salmon, vegetarian options, and more. Additionally, one side of the menu remained the same for those who preferred classic dishes to the evening’s specials. The Trellis Restaurant is perfect for those seeking a fine-dining 3-course meal. Just be sure to dress appropriately for this dining experience. Reservations are not always needed (at least for our cruise package, the Concierge package), we had anytime dining with no reservations required. We did, however, have to wait for a table to open for two evenings when we decided to eat at the Trellis. However, the wait wasn’t too long.
The only issue we had while dining at the Trellis was that we were limited in seating options. Each time we ate at the dining hall, we were seated in almost the same spot towards the middle of the room. At one point, we requested to be seated by the window, which we did not get, until our final evening when we repeatedly asked, as there were not many people dining that evening.
For poolside dining during the day, the Mast Grill offered hamburgers and fries. This was a perfect option for those who didn’t want to dine at the buffet, as well as for those hanging out by the poolside. Because this was an off-season cruise, this was the only outdoor eatery option at the time that was offered.

Activities and Amenities on Board
Activities on board vary. I was a little worried that for a smaller ship, activities would be limited. However, I was a bit surprised as they offered more than I had anticipated. During our day out to sea, I was unexpectedly sea-sick and unable to join in for the activities. Still, my husband and little one were able to enjoy hanging out by the pool, playing games throughout the ship, joining in on the free on-board activities during the day with other cruises (such as dot painting class, dancing).
Before our cruise, we had signed up for on-board experiences, which were slightly cheaper when booked in advance. My husband took the Mixology class, I signed up for a massage that my husband ended up using for me since I was not feeling well, and my daughter had a manicure.
Evening shows were very entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the Constellation Lounge and Theater, observing what shows, games, and activities were playing for the evening. The highlight of our entertainment was Karaoke evenings and watching people sing their hearts out in front of strangers. We also heard there was a silent disco evening, which I would have loved to observe, but we missed it watching another show. The Theater was also another favorite hangout where we would watch Broadway-style shows and 1-hour concerts featuring a variety of singers and performers, which were quite entertaining.
Furthermore, our tween daughter enjoyed hanging out at the teen center (ranging from 13-year-olds to 17-year-olds). I think she liked the social aspects and activities provided at the teen center and was able to meet a few friends during our cruise. It was also a nice way for my husband and me to enjoy our evening and have mini date nights on the evenings she hung out at the teen center (which was almost every night).
Other amenities included a 24/7 fitness center and a few free classes. We also found ourselves using the small library quite a few times as a hangout, either playing board games or puzzles that were left unfinished for the next cruiser to join in. Furthermore, board games could be found throughout the ship, such as in the Constellation lounge or library, for guests to use. I can’t forget to mention the casino and shopping on board that provided a reprieve from shows and activities during our out-to-sea adventures.

Despite it still being somewhat cool out and very early in the cruise season, the pool was another favorite hangout. The ship had an indoor and outdoor pool, both with hot tubs. We found ourselves lying out in the sun, enjoying the warmth and Vitamin D we rarely get in Germany during the winter. The nice thing about the outdoor pool is that not only do they offer several loungers to relax on and plenty of towels and blankets to use, but there is also a bar and the Mast Grill for hamburgers within reach of the pool.

The Crew
If there is one thing I will rave about Celebrity Infinity, it’s the hardworking crew, their kindness, and attention to detail. I don’t think we ever had a negative thing to say about the staff. They took care of us with willingness and kindness. Many came from varied backgrounds, and it was nice to get to know a few of the crew we saw daily and to listen to their stories about where they came from, their families, and their lives.
10-Night Best of Greece Mediterranean Cruise Itinerary
Finally, our 10-night “Best of Greece” Celebrity Infinity Mediterranean Cruise itinerary. This will be lengthy, but will have some good information when planning for the perfect Greek Mediterranean Cruise to take if you are thinking about taking Celebrity’s Mediterranean cruise. They do offer different locations; however, this was the route we chose for our Spring Break getaway, and it was not only perfect but also the right timing. We cruised just one week before the cruise season started and missed the crowds. For reference, we cruised from March 28-April 7, 2025.
Day 1: Embarkation- Athens (Piraeus), Greece
- We actually arrived 2 days earlier to enjoy Athens, which I highly recommend. We stayed overnight in Athens and headed to the cruise port around 1200 on embarkation day to board. We dropped our luggage off at check-in for the crew to place in our stateroom. Once we boarded the ship, we had to muster and wait for lunch to be served. We embarked around 1630 (4:30 pm) and took our time enjoying the ship’s entertainment, shopping, and evening activities.
Day 2: Thessaloniki, Greece (overnight)
- This was an overnight stay
- We arrived early at the cruise port and, upon disembarking, we immediately headed to the rental car agency we had booked online in advance. We actually walked from the port to the nearest rental car dealership, and after the rental, we drove from Thessaloniki to the village of Litochoro in the foothills of Mount Olympus.
- In Litochoro, we parked in the heart of the city and walked along the trail to Enipeas Gorge. Highly recommend this hike! After a quick hike and turning back towards where we came from, we decided to hit up a local bakery and buy some baked goods. We were on a time crunch, unfortunately, and needed to head to our next destination.

- Next, we drove to the Old Monastery of St. Dionysios, stopping first at the New Holy Monastery of Saint Dionysios of Olympus. Be forewarned: the New Monastery is actually a ways from the Old one; it was quite a drive up the mountains on the way to the Old Monastery, as it was very cloudy and rainy that day, so it was not an easy drive. Additionally, there were areas with trees down from a recent storm, but otherwise, other cars were also using this road at the time of our visit. While the New Holy Monastery was cool to visit briefly, I still recommend checking out the Old Monastery of St. Dionysis and comparing the two. Find the link here to read on about St. Dionysios.

- After a brief stop at the Monastery, we drove back the way we had come and headed to our next destination, the Pozar Thermal Baths. Completely out of the way, we were determined to make this stop. Since it was Spring, I also had the Veria Blossoms on our stop, but due to time constraints, we had to bypass it. However, on the way to Pozar Thermal Baths, we saw lots of fruit blossoms.
- Pozar Thermal Baths is a must and a pretty neat stop; however, it was pouring rain and cold when we went, but the thermal bath was a nice reprieve from the freezing rain. We sadly didn’t stay long as we needed to return the rental car.
- Exploring the surrounding areas of the port stop is one of the best ways to spend an overnight cruise stop; it’s probably the best time to visit beyond the cruise port and experience the countryside.
- Once we returned to the ship, we spent the rest of the evening having dinner and enjoying the entertainment on board.
Day 3: Thessaloniki for half the day, and embarkation
- We had half the morning to venture into Thessaloniki, so we took advantage of it by taking the free cruise shuttle into the city and just walking around and exploring. Thessaloniki has tons of history, a mixture of Macedonian and Byzantine.
- By noon, we returned to the ship on the complimentary shuttle and enjoyed the time on board and the entertainment.

Day 4: Ephesus (Kusadasi), Türkiye
- This was one of my favorite stops. I debated between a private tour and spending the entire day in Kusadasi on our own. We decided to do our own thing and rent a car, so we took a cab from the port to the rental car agency. From there, we headed to the House of the Virgin Mary. I really loved this stop, but it was very busy mid-morning with tourists, more so local tourists.
- We skipped Ephesus; it was a last-minute decision I made because I knew visiting this historical site would take up most of our day in Kusadasi. Additionally, it was really expensive for my family of three, and I knew that my teen wouldn’t have appreciated the history. So we decided to head to other locations, which we didn’t regret at all. Furthermore, Ephesus was getting really crowded and busy as we passed by after leaving the House of the Virgin Mary, which is very close to Ephesus.
- Drive to Şirince and experience this car-free village. Though this was also full of tourists, it was a must-stop! We really enjoyed exploring the open-air markets and trying the black mulberry juice they are known for. We also had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. For a small town, credit card was accepted at this restaurant.
- On our way back to Kusadasi, we stopped by the St. John the Baptist Church; for us, this was a good alternative for a small historical stop if not doing Ephesus. It is not free to visit, but we thought it was neat to walk around and find the history of St. John the Apostle.
- Stop by a Carpet Shop, but don’t feel pressured to buy a wool carpet. We did stop by a carpet shop out of curiosity, but they were a bit pushy about us buying a rug. We listened to their presentation and respected it, but in the end, we told them we would have to think it over. The price of the rug I wanted was close to 3K, which was a lot more than my budget.
- Finally, after returning our rental car, the agency was kind enough to drive us back to the seaside, close to the port, where we had some sweets and walked through a few bazaar shops. Before we left, we stopped by one more carpet shop by the cruise port, and this family-owned shop was a lot more humble and respectful. We did find an antique Kilim rug; it was beautiful, and we ended up buying it for €600, compared to close to 1k. They kindly packed it into a carry-on luggage for us.
- By then, it was around 2000, and we needed to return to the boat to embark by 2130 for our next destination.

Day 5: Day At Sea
- A day at sea is always nice. This was our chance to relax for the day without worrying about getting up for excursions. We had a day of relaxation and pool/hot tub planned for this day. Unfortunately, I ended up getting seasick from a combination of a stomach bug I had caught from eating salad in Kusadasi or from eating way too much at the buffet the night before. I ended up being cooped up in bed for the rest of the day, while the husband and kid spent time by the poolside and checking out the onboard activities for the day.
Day 6: Limassol, Cyprus
- We took the cruise’s free shuttle into the city (a must; otherwise, it would be a long, long walk). Once we were in the city, we walked towards the meeting point of our Free Walking Tour with Guru Walk. I booked this in advance, which I highly recommend. We walked the city with a tour guide and learned about its history. One thing we learned is that Cyprus is a country of its own, divided into two parts: the North, which belongs to Türkiye, and the South, which belongs to the Cypriots (people of Cyprus). From what we learned, these two parts are pretty separate from each other and remain so. Another point, it was once a British Colony. More history here.
- This was a short day visit; we had to be back to port around 1530 to embark at 1630.

Day 7: Day At Sea
- Another day of relaxation —unfortunately, I spent half the day still in bed, recovering from the stomach bug I had caught two days ago. I ended up having to cancel my massage and gave it to my husband to use. We booked this massage months before the cruise, which I highly recommend doing in advance if you want to book any activities on board to be guaranteed a spot. Additionally, the husband also booked a Mixology class that he thoroughly enjoyed. My teen also took advantage of the spa by getting a manicure. Additionally, she attended the teen club every evening, meeting other teens her age.
Day 8: Rhodes, Greece
- This was actually my favorite stop among all the port stops! It’s one of the reasons why I wanted to take the cruise, as I have heard wonderful things about Rhodes!
- We rented a car for half the morning. When we disembarked, we were met by the rental car company across from the port. From there, we drove to Anthony Quinn Bay, which was highly rated for its beach and views.
- Anthony Quinn Bay is a must! We stayed most of the morning here, admiring the views and relaxing on the beach. Sadly, in early April, it was still too cold to swim in the crystal-clear water. Luckily, there was a restaurant with a view of the beach from above, so we decided to have an early lunch there and enjoy the beach before heading back to Rhodes port.
- We returned our rental car, but not before the company dropped us off close to the port. We still had a few hours to explore Rhodes inside the walls. We visited the Rhodes windmill, Old Town Rhodes, and the bazaars.

Day 9: Heraklion (Iraklion), Crete
- I wasn’t too keen on Heraklion’s port before we landed, as I didn’t see much we could do there. However, we had a completely booked day of checking out the wineries in the area. We booked an Airbnb experience. I’ll write a separate post on this.
- Heraklion city wasn’t much in my opinion. We walked around and checked out a few stores before deciding to take the free shuttle back to the ship for our 1630 departure.
Day 10: Athens
- The final day brought us back to Athens, where we had a day and an overnight to enjoy the city. For day 10, we took a cab to the local ferry terminal, where we took the ferry to the island of Aegina. This was a last-minute decision; we had already explored Athens when we arrived a day early before the cruise started, so we wanted to do something different on our last day cruising, and we did not regret it. Additionally, the ferry was packed, not with tourists, but with locals looking to get away from the city of Athens. It was also a Sunday, and there was an event in Athens that blocked roads for tour buses (some kind of bike race), so I figured the locals wanted to escape the city’s busyness.
- A day in Aegina was a dream. This small island is about an hour from Athens and worth a visit. I will write a separate post on this.
- After returning to port, we took the cab back to our ship and enjoyed one more night on the ship. We also packed our luggage that final night and left it outside our cabin for the crew to pick up. We had an early morning, and most of the guests were asked to leave as early as 0800 for the crew to prepare the ship for the oncoming guests. We had one final breakfast the morning of disembarking from the ship at the buffet before we checked out of the boat.

Final Thoughts
Our packed 10-Night Celebrity Infinity cruise through the Greek Islands and surrounding areas was the perfect Spring Break getaway. Not only were we one of the first cruises to set sail for the season, but we also enjoyed cruising in early April before the crowds started trickling in. Although smaller and not as updated as newer ships are, the Celebrity Infinity was definitely a quieter one to enjoy without the crowds. There were a few families on board, but the amenities for smaller children were not as varied. The food was decent, with a variety to choose from and a buffet that rotated menus and themes every day. If you’re looking for a quiet cruise for half the cost of a newer ship, and exploring several Greek Islands and surrounding areas, the Celebrity Infinity is the way to go.
That sums up my review, until next time friends! μέχρι την επόμενη φορά φίλοι!
